Gay Pride 2009

Gay Pride 2009

In the first weekend of August, thousands of representatives of homosexuals from all over the world come to Amsterdam to take part in thematic events, entertainment and, of course, to demonstrate their resourcefulness and ingenuity in the choice of incredible costumes and dresses for the brightest part of the Gay Pride - Parade of boats through Amsterdam, which is traditionally held on Saturday. Dozens of boats decorated with cheerful people pass through the capital that day.

Many thousands of tourists come to Amsterdam to watch the show and from the heart merry. On this bright festival of freedom all fun - and gays and people with a standard orientation.

Last weekend parade in 2010 we missed. But we were there in the past, in 2009. And have not shared their impressions and vivid pictures of the day! Corrected!

Netherlands - second place at World Championships

July 14, 2010

Football team of the Netherlands was not able to cope with Spain in the final match for the title of World Champion Cup and finally satisfied with a silver medal.

Lost the final - it is certainly a huge disappointment. However, second place in the championship for the Netherlands - is an achievement. Neither the players nor the Dutch fans are not even dreamed of and hoped for such a high result.

Oranje Honouring Amsterdam

Therefore, despite the loss, in Holland a great holiday. And on Tuesday, to return the team from South Africa, this football feast on a large scale was recorded in Amsterdam.

Football team of the Netherlands (Oranje - the nickname for fans of the team) made a ceremonial procession through Amsterdam. The streets and canals of the city that day were more orange than even the Queen's Day .

Offer to participate in the festival and look at a small selection of photographs of various authors with Flickr (I myself, unfortunately, in this orange Tuesday sat in a stuffy office in Rotterdam).

Parking in Amsterdam

July 20, 2009

Parking in Amsterdam - 16 euros for 3,5 hours. What? Parked on Sunday at Museumplein. If anyone knows cheaper - tell Wink

Basically, I was ready for this. Just Sunday morning I read that parking in Amsterdam - the most expensive in the world - 77 U.S. dollars all day (probably daily). It is more expensive than in London, which ranks second in the world with almost $ 57 for parking! And, incidentally, in third place again, The Netherlands, The Hague. The average price for parking in this city about the same as in Vienna, Austria - about 56 U.S. dollars.

And if we take into account that the Dutch are not the cheapest petrol in Europe (by the way, is now one liter of petrol is on average worth about 1.38 euros for the euro super "(95th)), is clearly evident that this country - not a paradise for motorists.

Although it is a "but"! My personal opinion - in the Netherlands, one of the best roads in Europe! And they are free (at least not yet), so I'm not comparing the Dutch road with French or Italian. They are perfect, but very expensive. But that's another story.

Rotterdam. On the Queen's Day 2009 Last Thursday we woke up later than usual Smile Today off! On the occasion of the annual celebration of the Queen Smile And today, we, like many Dutch people were going to go to the capital of the Netherlands. Yea me unprecedented Amsterdam Smile Every year on this day, April 30, all of Holland is walking in orange robes, rejoice in the squares, streets and even the balconies of the country. And of course drink a drink of the day - beer. But especially holiday is celebrated in Amsterdam. And we have bought a pair of orange hats in advance by downloading a huge backpack camera and a few beers, went to Amsterdam!

We rode the train we are pretty fun Smile Around the crowded Dutch youth. They chatted, laughed, shouted and drank beer. At the station in Amsterdam was a lot of people. We arrived people from all over the Netherlands and all were sent to the exit. Coming out of the stuffy crowded train station, we came to no less crowded streets and went for a walk.

On the streets of careless gaiety prevailed. Local residents and many tourists wandering aimlessly around the city. Tourists stared at the unusual old houses and other attractions, and local simply strolling through the city. Channels were filled with boats and boats. Almost all boat people danced, many have even been established DJ turntable, club and bar smoke Smile Everyone on the boat was a small party. All participants were dressed in different orange clothing, hats, skirts, sunglasses. Some specially for this for painting hair orange temporary paint Smile Вобщем rather Theme party Smile The spectacle, of course, funny.

At the pivot streets were concerts which some local popular singers and dancers. And it must be noted that one of the central areas to mix the popular hits of DJ Tiesto! Smile

Amsterdam. On the Queen's Day 2009 All bars, coffee shops and private shops in the day were open to their guests Smile And so the city was saturated with the smell of marijuana. Smoking is not shy is not a coffeeshop, or near them. Smoked a lot and everywhere Smile Anywhere. And throughout the city could watch the company of young people and billowing smoke around them. One of them had managed to grab us, passing another coffee shops, and photographed Smile

Amsterdam. On the Queen's Day 2009 In different parts of the city center of Amsterdam was occupied by different attractions. We walked past a couple of interesting entertainment. Almost in the center stood a huge crane from which dropped down people tied a rope. Those who are not yet sufficiently warmed up throwing to two of them. But those who already have nothing to fear, flew on one and in this case, it seems, really is not afraid (hm.. Can it natrenirovany owner of the crane showing master class ..?)

Amsterdam. On the Queen's Day 2009 It opened an incredible amount souvenir shops. And it is understandable why. Also around the center of a lot like small markets where they sold clothing, hats, jewelry and other stuff. But there were funny little things. I, like a normal person, the first being in Amsterdam, was obliged to beg Petka something. Begged comic bag and a souvenir, "train consisting of the letters of our names. Acquisitions been glad we went on.

Amsterdam. On the Queen's Day 2009 As is well known Amsterdam - a city of museums. Here, an incredible number of different museums. Today, unfortunately, were closed. But it opened a lot of shops erotic goods, sex shops and similar places. What actually is also famous for Amsterdam Smile At the entrance to some shops were very funny representatives porn.

Almost every street was located at several shops. At the time it seemed to me that the streets of this city are only coffeeshops, sex shops and taverns Smile But if you look closely, you can see and the usual shops Smile

Despite a rather reckless behavior among young people in this day, the feast took place without any unpleasant events. All drank, smoked, to interact, but we could not not see any fights or something like that. We can not of course ignore the unpleasant incident. That same day, the Day of the Queen in the city of Apeldoorn an unpleasant event. The driver crashed into a crowd of spectators. As a result, several killed himself and 4 other people. It seems to be as it was an attempt on the royal family. In this city have banned outdoor party on that day. But in Amsterdam, everything was in order. In general, people here are friendly, we have concluded Smile

Amsterdam. On the Queen's Day 2009 But it was impossible not to notice how dirty was the city that day. In trash people even tried to throw out the garbage. They were overcrowded. Garbage thrown everywhere, but not in the designated areas Smile But nobody paid any attention. In this holiday is a normal condition.

We walked us all day. The day we avoided not only the center, visited on a less busy streets. Strolled along the promenade, which incidentally was not very picturesque. And, seated on the observation platform of the popular maritime museum Nemo met a very unusual sunset at the background of the capital city Smile

Amsterdam on sunset

And as soon as the sun went down. We went walking pace .. where do you think Question correctly. Red light district. It was business as usual Smile Crowds of tourists (including us), but not small and local that evening would stare (and maybe not just stare) at the Amsterdam priestesses of love Smile Red light district, who was not, a few cross narrow streets. The ground floors of old buildings are glazed. Around there is a red neon light. Inside the premises, too, all in red neon lights. In many zastekolyah be skazt really nice atmosphere. Beds are neatly laid out with nice sheets, flowers around and all that. Immediately noticeable: working professionals! Big Smile Or rather "professional Smile Day of course all this is almost invisible.

Amsterdam. Red Light district

Amsterdam. Red Light district

I will tell you a secret, we went there during the day, but the first thing I saw it full elderly mulatto woman with a bad manicure, noticeably inaccurate epilation and fat deposits in all parts of the body. And we quickly went from there. As it turned out during the day shift work there is not the most beautiful women Big Smile ) But the evening is full of beautiful young girls and older women beckon finger lonely walking men. Find out on their own experience, that not alone do not attract Smile Just glancing at the prospective clients. As Peter told me, the cost of services at all one - 50 euros (after all, learned all the same Big Smile .

Amsterdam. Red Light district Near some places the crowd a lot of people. Apparently a very popular girls in bikinis strutting behind the glass. But there were those around which is why it was empty.

It also installed a small monument ... eeee ... whatever they are called ... a woman of easy virtue! Here! Smile We walked through the evening Amsterdam we are almost to the last train. Lastly walked through the remaining open souvenir shops, and without buying anything (although the temptation was great Smile , Went to the station.

We returned home after midnight. We fall off his feet and his head was buzzing Smile But we were happy. About myself I can say that I liked Amsterdam. Unusual small town Smile City, in which we will definitely come again Smile
